L'imprevu - Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, without a reservation. We were all feeling cranky, hungry, and exhausted, but the staff made sure we had a lovely table in the shade and kept our water glasses full (and even refilled them promptly when needed, thank you!) They were patient with our poor French skills. The food was delicious, especially when we mentioned how large the portions were for the salad.

We were in this restaurant on a Saturday me and my wife and we took the special with a bottle of wine included (99$. my wife liked her pasta plate. on my side I ordered a steak. it was so thin and well made,...instead of medium rare. it took an hour to get our plate and another 30 minutes to get our bill. therefore I guess this restaurant is only as average. the price is too high for the quality of food and services it makes desired. that was my last time in this restaurant

Here for the company christmas part eating was amazing and the service was impeccable. I will return

I love this place already! our host is so courteous and friendly to her English speaking guest! the suppe of the day was the best I ever tried! 5 stars all even cleanliness I said I love this place!

Now I understand why the reviews are all in French because it is an out of the way lovely French restaurant . Not many English speaking people frequent this place and our wonderful waitress Nathalie, 20 years on the job, did her best to accommodate...us who were only speaking English. The food was very very good and we were so glad we found this place. I googled it before we set out from the US, but then decided against it because we were tired arriving at the hotel. But there I saw their advertisement and then we gave it a try anyway. We weren't sorry and I can highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates French cuisine. I had the canard (Duck), requested it rare and it was delicious, part of a pre fix menu (CD 38). We left and wished we could take it back to the US with us. Including charming Nathalie.
