At Keefer Street, during our 13th stop on our quest to find Vancouver’s Best Coffee, we visited The Wilder Snail. I'm not familiar with this area, but I'm captivated by the intriguing blend of an organic, gluten-free grocery store and a neighborhood café.
This place offers excellent coffee and has a wonderful sense of community. In addition to beverages, they also sell groceries and various items, resembling a general store. The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting, making it a truly beloved spot in the neighborhood.
A Different Pace. From the outside it looks like your stereotypical corner store you would find in any community across Canada. But don't judge this book buy its cover, because it is part coffee house, part corner store and somewhere in the back there is a bit of a bike shop hanging out.
Maybe it was chance. Maybe it was fate. It’s hard to say why life takes us to certain places at certain times but I do know this – walking into The Wilder Snail is like taking a step back into time. A happier time , a time where people left their doors unlocked, children ran freely, and most importantly, a time where Jimmy Soul and Elvis ruled the airwaves.
