Bidra med feedbackChickpea really impressed me. From the cute children's books with menus attached right through to the decor; the restaurant's vibe is very friendly and colorful. The menu is vegan and the flavor is top notch! I can't remember what it was called, but I had the deep fried cauliflower over the house made hummus. I went savage... It's probably good I was eating alone. I really appreciated the consistency of the whole meal. My fried cauliflower had a great batter and was not over cooked inside; the hummus was evenly seasoned, there was a nice hint of heat and the textures mixed well together. The side salad was crisp and bright and not overly dressed. I added the beet salad as well, which was a bit of a mistake, the portions are larger than they appear, so I'll get the rest of the beet salad (which was tart and refreshing) as a snack later tonight. Personally I found the restaurant a bit loud, however it was Friday night, and I started my day before 5 AM. I sat at the bar in front of the window so I could people watch, the bar was a nice size, but it would have been more comfortable with a larger stool. I appreciated the full water carafe that was left at the table as well, the service was lovely, but the place was packed, so on a hot evening it was nice to be able to top up my own water when I wanted. In general all the staff were friendly, I'd consider Chickpea both for girls night out and a family dinner. The menu offers individual and hafla (family style) meal options and also had a kids menu and several in house cocktails. I look forward to popping in at least once more before leaving to try one of the all day breakfast options.
Just had Chickpea falafel plate and a sabich plate for diner, OH MY GOD, absolutely amazing. Chickpea fries will blow your mind, the falafel and hummus was to die for, and the sabich was out of this world. We can’t wait to check the place out, quite possibly this weekend. My new favourite restaurant.
We waited around 20 minutes to get a table but it was so worth the wait. After studying the menu which was clipped inside a kid’s book (ingenious up-cycling btw) I finally chose the Schniztelinum Platter. All the options were very tempting but they “had me” at “avocado”! The mains can be ordered stuffed into a pita or as platter with various different sides. I chose the platter which included a little of each of the sides, turns out...that’s a LOT of food. I had never heard of chickpea fries and I wouldn’t even know how to describe them other than they were fluffy and delicious! I would definitely recommend Chickpea.
Where has this place been my whole life? the food was amazing. we wanted to try everything on the menu... it was so hard to choose, our server was super sweet and helpful and guided us to food bliss! i loved the restaurant itself- the decor, the atmosphere, the menus, the washrooms even!!!! ... i could rave all day about EVERYTHING:
Had a falafel pita from Chickpea while attending the Make It Market in Vancouver. Flavour was absolutely delicious. One of the best falafel’s I’ve ever had. Sweet chilli sauce was amazing! Vancouver is lucky to have this food truck/restaurant!!
