Sapporo Grill Japanese Steakhouse

Food was great...but service was marginal. The server apologized for the service as soon as we sat down and it was only worse from there. There was no one filling drinks, water, or removing plates. We asked for everything multiple times. Others around us complained of the service. I would say this is a management issue, if you do not have enough coverage for New Year's Eve. The food was excellent though.

The ambiance was nice and suiting for downtown, the service was good and the prices were reasonable.

I love sushi and was severely disappointed by the quality of the rolls. The spider roll was disappointing; the roll fell apart inmedielty and was extremely large. The only redeeming quality was the vegetable tempura. The waiter disappeared and was never in sight.

We went to dinner at Sapporo for our son's 16th birthday. We go every year for his birthday and he really enjoys the place and the food. This year it was below average. Our server seemed to concentrate on trying to upsell the food options, which was annoying. When she realized that we weren't interested, she gave our table very little attention. Our food was fine but it was really lacking the fine dining experience we wanted for our family. There wasn't anything special about the night or the food. We won't be coming back to Sapporo.

We went to Sapporo Grill to celebrate my son's 17th birthday his request for steak and sushi. Sapporo fit the bill perfectly. The service was excellent and they even brought some dessert for the birthday boy. Sapporo has something for everyone, even the non sushi eaters. We'll be back!
