On The Border Mexican Grill

Typically we have a great experience at our Favorite Mexican Restaurant, but unfortunately this time we had a bad experience. The manager on shift tonight (5pm on 11/24) did not honor a coupon that we found on Retail Me Not. We have used coupons here before without any issues but Heidi, the manager, would not permit us to use coupon. I used the Retail Me Not App hundreds of times before without any issues. I am posting a picture of the coupon she would not honor. It was very disappointing. 2/26/2020 We were actually done with eating at On the Border because the manager never followed through on our last yelp review but tonight Jessica blew our experience out of the park!!! She always delivers phenomenal customer service and works hard to keep her customers happy. The management team at On the Border owes you big for doing service recovery with us. We hope to come back soon and dine with Jessica again!!!

Fast service, friendly workers, and solid food. I recommend coming here on the weekdays between 3-6 for their happy hour menu. Discounts on beers, pitchers, and shots, along with a portion of finger foods and appetizers. Very nice feel in the restaurant. Great for bigger parties if you want to have drinks and watch sports games. Outside patio is nice as well, during the warmer season. Try their signature queso bowl. Along with their OTB mixed drink. If you can't decide on what to order, their border sampler allows you a taste of chicken quesadillas, steak nachos, and chicken flautas. served with guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo and original queso as well. Come hungry and you'll leave stuffed.

I've been to this location many many times since they've first started opening here in Natomas. It's always a hit and miss with their service. Some days I get great service and some days, not so great. This will be my first review for them. I came here for lunch, just before noon. The place was pretty empty. We were seated right away. Our waitress came and took our order right away, but we were still deciding on what to eat. So, we had asked for water while we waited. As we were munching on the AYCE chip and salsa, the thirst kicked in. As I looked over to see where our waitress was with our water, to no available. A few minutes had passed. Usually, your drinks gets to the table pretty fast, but to wait almost 10 minutes for my water was kind of ridiculous! So finally our waitress shows up to take our order, but before we started, I had asked where our water was, she of course looked baffled with no apologies as to why our water had not shown up to our table. So after she took our order, she went and retrieve our water. I had ordered their border bowl with steak. I was not impressed. The steak was chewy, not much flavor to it. I've got this tiny bowl with beans, mostly lettuce and red and green peppers in it for $11! I could of got bigger portions at Chipotle and better tasting steak for less! Mostly, I'd enjoyed the AYCE chip and salsa, that was the highlight of the day.

One of our favorite places and definitely top place for out of town guests. always busy, always good food. rlw

I received a gift card at Christmas so I figured let's try a new place out. Came in for dinner on a Monday night. We were seated right away figured out what we wanted to drink and eat then just sat there. Our original server either didn't notice we were there or just ignored us. After 15 min I went to the hostess and asked who our server was. The manager come over gave us a free queso dip and assigned a new server to us. Raeshon completely turned the experience around for us. We told him we were trying to catch a movie and he had our orders taken, drinks out, food served, and we were ready to go within 10 min. The food was good and if Raeshon is our server I would totally come back.
