Del Ponte - Saas-Fee

This restaurant seems part of five star hotel, the restaurant has a bit of that feeling. But prices are similar to other restaurants in the city, pizza just best at same price and they have great selection of wines.

The tomato cream soup and the homemade pasta gorgonzola were amazing! The staff is really caring and knowledgeable. We received good advice for the wine to accompany our food.

We were 4 adults, 1 child and 1 baby to eat for a dinner inside Del Ponte restaurant. I choosed the table close to the window and in the corner, in order to have quiet and space for all of us during our dinner. Unfortunately,...when we arrived, we saw that the table just next to ours, was occupied by a couple who arrived earlier, when all other tables of the restaurant were empty in the same area ! Why not to give some privacy when it is possible and to put them just next to us knowing we would arrive with a baby and buggy ? Point to be improved by restaurant... The food itself was good, but pizza bread was definitively too salty, we all noticed that point ! We ordered champagne and got good service for it. The prices are expensive I should say, so don't expect to eat cheap if going there. Well, that's all for this one. I will post some photos soon for you to see what I'm talking about. First, I have to say the food is good here but the wait for our food was ridiculous. We were a party of six.....ordered 3 pastas and 3 pizzas and waited an hour and 15 minutes for our food!!! Totally unacceptable. We have eaten here...before over the years but things have changed and we will not be returning. They have to work out the organizational issues.

We enjoyed 3 very good dinners at Del Ponte during our stay in Saas Fee. We particularly liked their home made pasta which you can combine between 8 shapes and 8 different sauces. All our combinations were excellent and very well cooked ; The staff...is also very friendly and available for any suggestion. We will definitely show up again during our next stay in Saas Fee.
