Echo Canyon Resort & Marina - Royal

We’ve been coming to Lakes Ouachita and Hamilton as a family for years (since the 1950s) and when at Ouachita we’ve always stayed at Echo Canyon (formerly Spillway and possibly something else before that). We wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else. It’s always a wonderful getaway to stay at Echo Canyon.Nearby activities: We spend lots of time in Hot Springs at some of our favorite restaurants.

Rented a boat here twice over the past month. Very easy process, clean well maintained party barge and friendly staff! Highly recommend, will be using again!Service: 5/5

We came out to the lake as a spur of the moment vacation plan. Rented a studio cabin and a boat slip. Only real complaint was the uncomfortable bed for one of us. The sleeper sofa was more comfortable. Everything was clean and read for us. All the staff were pleasant and helpful when needed. The slip we rented for our stay was right by the marina and fuel dock. While an easy location to use, others from the lake would come in and get pizza and use the slip, we would have to ask them how long they were going to be and if it was more than just a few minutes would have to ask them to move. While no one gave any issues and did move, just felt bad needing to ask them to move while they were trying to enjoy their food.Over all, will be back, already scheduled another cabin for another trip out with friends and family.Nearby activities: What a beautiful lake to be on. Most of our time was on the lake but having a place to come into to get off the lake for rest and storms they provided an excellent environment.Walkability: The down hills are easy, it's the uphills that can get you. Everything was still walk-able, just get ready for some up hill walking.

We booked a cabin in June and received such excellent service, we decided to return for another week in July. Cabins are clean and welcoming. Ladonna and her staff sincerely treated us like family.The resort has easy access to beautiful Lake Ouchita. The only suggestion we would have is to provide stronger internet service.

We recently stayed in cabin #16 at Echo Canyon, it was clean and spacious, nice back porch with grill and firepit and a slight view of the lake. The staff was so friendly and accommodating which is refreshing. Echo Canyon is a beautiful part of Lake Ouachita and feels a little more peaceful than some of the other areas, we loved it, will definitely go back to enjoy Echo again!
