Dicey's Irish Pub Restaurant

We went to dinner with our adult children who were visiting from out of town, and they were surprised when we entered the restaurant. They asked if it was a nightclub due to its dirty and dingy appearance. The bartender seemed slow and confused, and we found a table on the balcony that was sticky. We looked at the menu and noticed a man at the next table who appeared intoxicated. Although the menu had a good selection, the atmosphere was terrible and we felt like we were in a scene from a movie where the police would come looking for the place.

My partner enjoyed the lamb and Guinness pie while I had the pint-sized shepherd's pie. Both dishes were generously portioned with lovely fresh vegetables. Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience.

Wow, all I can say is wow. rib and kilkenny bier. great eating and personal. the woman had a chicken dish with seafood cups my daughter had child size ripening. the guy on the nightstand had a tomahawk steak wow who looked great. .

Gladstone people seem to rate Diceys highly so we decided to give it another go. Like pretty much everything in Gladstone, the food is overpriced and underwhelming. I got the seafood platter. Looked great when it came out, a lot of seafood for $40. Unfortunately...all the fried seafood was dripping fat, wet fatty crumb. The prawns were well over cooked. Could hardly find evidence of an oyster under the sauce. The scallops were actually fat and juicy though. Hubby had lamb cutlets. Was ok, but $36 is **** steep for a meal that we probably would have cooked nicer at home. So tired of Gladstone high prices for food that the cooks just don’t know how to cook. The spring rolls were nice.

So usually any meal you get here is better than the average pub meal BUT had to send the fish back as the batter was not crunchy had a weird consistancy for 'batter ' possibly the oil was not hot enough. The ribs came out...stone cold in the middle. Second time round, the fish was the same and the ribs were so dry and chewy they were unedible. Shape up guys this was really really bad for your usual good meals. The servers knew what was going on too as yes i complained but there was no end result to that before anyone asks did you tell them
