Bidra med feedbackFood is good and price is reasonable, especially the service is superior!
Been coming here for years, before they changed their name. Price has gone up, but that 's to be expected. Food has always been consistent. Tasty, appropriate flavoring. Canh Chua Ca (hot sour fish soup), Ca Kho (caramelized braised catfish) Thit Kho (caramelized braised pork) are my favorites... I can never make mine taste like theirs... Sooooooo good. They were cash only (which is understandable for a lot of mom pops), been accepting cards for some time now. They have NEVER snuck in any tip charge on my bill. (I read that in a few other reviews). And being cash only has nothing to do with charging tax on food. That 's why I decided to finally write a review for them. No I don 't know the owners. I 'm not related to them in any way. Just a fellow Vietnamese immigrant who understands what they 're going thru and the difficulties of running a restaurant, especially nowadays where anyone and everyone can post their opinions about anything and everything . I like this place, plain and simple.
Food came out quick, fish was good, even though I'm not a huge fan of eating fish. For 6 people, the meal only cost us a little over $40 not including tip. If you want fresh authentic Vietnamese fish/seafood dishes, check this place out.
This Vietnamese restaurant, located in a small space between San Gabriel and Rosemead, has become my go-to for comfort food. I always order the family dinner, which is a great value. The chicken salad is refreshingly delicious, and the catfish soup, while sour and slightly spicy, has a surprisingly smooth texture. The clay pot fish is definitely the highlight of the meal, and I always request extra sauce because it pairs perfectly with the fish, which is never overcooked. However, I’m not a big fan of the Bo Luc Lac; the meat was quite dry and the portion was small, making it not worth the price. Overall, the restaurant is clean and the staff is attentive, providing fast service. Just don’t expect a fancy atmosphere or overly friendly staff who chat with you. I’ll continue to support this local business.
I really enjoy these authentic Vietnamese dishes that I can't replicate at home, especially the brewed fish. The prices are quite reasonable, particularly the dinner combos. You can't go wrong with just $25 for two people! They also accept credit cards, which is a plus. And to top it all off, we were treated to a complimentary dessert!
