Shawnis Caribbean Cuisine - Roselle

I have been to Jamaica but this restaurant has some of the best Jamaican food I have ever tasted. I have been a loyal customer for years, both at work and at home, because the food is always fresh and delicious. The staff is very friendly and always makes me feel welcome, despite the sometimes chaotic kid-friendly atmosphere.

While the food tastes okay, if they don't have something they will replace it with something you did not ask for (WITHOUT informing you). Unacceptable. I swear the food tastes different every time and the presentation is always sloppy. Honestly, I'd go elsewhere.

I ordered Oxtail and rice peas ,the oxtail was burnt and a little salty .I love oxtails and tried to force myself to eat it .I also ordered cow foot soup and it was the worse cow foot soup I've ever had .I took two spoons of it and threw it away .I would never order from here again .1st and last time .Complete waste of money .I only ordered from this restaurant because yaad pot wasn't coming up on grub hub .Please don't waste your money .

GrubHub provided excellent service, being punctual and polite. However, Shawnies' customer service was rather disappointing. I was looking forward to trying a new Caribbean restaurant in the area, but my excitement was dampened when my order arrived without the mac and cheese side dish I had ordered. Despite this, I called the restaurant to inform them of the missing item. The person who answered the phone showed no concern for my issue, simply stating that I would need to come pick it up and that there was nothing they could do. What frustrated me the most was the lack of apology for their mistake. I will not be returning to Shawnies. Additionally, the oxtails were overcooked and mushy.

Roaches ??‍? that's all .... Was waiting on my order that I placed on doordash said it was ready so I came to pick it up but it wasn't ready. Had to wait 10 to 15 minutes for it to be ready as I was waiting. I saw roaches is growing up the walls and it just made my skin crawl. I like the food but I don't think I'm going to visit again...
