Pizzeria Da Simone - Roma

We were staying just around the corner at the il Giardino dei Ciligei B&B and we stumbled upon this absolute gem and had lunch here twice during our stay. The first time was the afternoon we arrived where we ordered margarita pizza slices which are priced by the kilogram and a decent lunchtime serving came to about 4 euros per head and was easily one of the nicest pizzas I've ever had. This however was surpassed the following day by the focaccia, my girlfriend and I ordered two seperate flavours and tried one of each which were both stunning. Mine was prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella, hers was another cooked sliced meat darker than prosciutto (can't remember the name) served with rocket. This lunch came in at 9.60 euros including canned drinks so about 4 euros each for the focaccia. If your staying in the city centre this place is well worth a lunchtime visit to enjoy Rome like the locals, we were the only English speaker bar one of the servers who was extremely helpful and walked us through how everything worked as this was our first time in Italy.

This was hands down the best pizza I have ever eaten in Rome. The paste is excellent and baked just right and all the fresh toppings are delicious. Although the mushrooms were probably canned ones, I do not recommend those. The personnel is joyful and kind and if you are not visiting in the evening rush-hour and want a whole pizza then you 'll get yours in 10-15 minutes. The prices according to Rome are average. If you want Italian taste, you have to try it.

Ottima pizza romana nell'atmosfera a portata di mano. personale gentile e gentile. ottimo per trascorrere una serata in compagnia e mangiare una grande pizza. Non vedo l'ora di tornare
