Bidra med feedbackThat was my first time I tried Filipino food. We had a great experience. The lady at the counter tells us every dish and we choose what we thought we would be happy. Everything tasted good! We ordered rice and pork and noodles and chicken. We also packed some frozen pork chops from the shop in the restaurant. Come back to try something else.
We stumbled over this beautiful cafeteria style restaurant as it is located in the same shopping complex as the Tile Shop. Before we enjoy various shades of white bath tiles, we decided to try this restaurant because neither my husband nor I have ever tried Filipino food. The restaurant was clean and had many seats. We were initially somewhat confused as to order because we did not see a menu that listed the various food items, but the staff explained the different meat and vegetables options. I ordered the grill pork with a delicious vegetable stew with squash, shrimp and long beans in a light coconut milk. It came with a bunch of white rice. My husband ordered the same veggie stone and chicken adobo and also liked his food. I brought a dessert - a rice cake called Sapin-Sapin - out of her refrigerator, as they are a small market and also prepared food. It was delicious! Would definitely go back!
The owners are so helpful and friendly at KC Filipino!!! There is a cafeteria restaurant and also a market area with snacks, food and frozen food! My favorites we ate were the lumps, the pig's sin and the flan!! The pig sinigang was so comforting and had so great aromas. The flan was so rich and decadent. The owners recommended taking some of their favorite pastries and snacks home. The Philippines Bread House pastries are delicious (the hops were amazing).
I wanted to explore more Filipino food after I have tried it for a while. I chose KC Filipino Restaurant because I wanted to try Crispy Pata (Crispy Knuckle) that not many places serve it. (mostly pork belly) When I got inside the atmosphere was very casual and seem like a cafeteria or canteen style with mini mart. It might be very familiar for Asian people like me or Filipino. Too bad that they don't have menu or any food name on display glass counter, so it wasn't quite easy for me to order something else that I wanted to try (besides Crispy Pata). As for the food, Crispy Pata, I was a little upset. (From my experiences) It wasn't crispy enough, a lot of fat/skin parts still sticky and tough. That might be because they didn't fry it long enough and many customers there at that time. As for the flavor, quite tasteless, not much herbs or spices. I also ordered something look like beef curry (I don't know the name), I like this one though. It tasted quite mild and beef texture was cooked nicely. I still got BBQ pork skewer and fried banana, they both were just OK, quite plain and too sweet. For the service, as I said in the beginning, it was vey casual restaurant, so please don't expect to get a professional or full service too much. It was ordinary and informal restaurant type. (but inside is spacious and have many dine-in tables)p.s. If you have or know Filipino food background before, it would be helpful to visit this place but if you like a challenge and learn authentic Filipino style, that is fine too.p.s. Before I left, I bought a Filipino dessert to try, because I like the color (violet) I don't know what it is, anyway nothing was fancy.
Stingy with the portions. The halohalo was a disappointment. Lots of shaved ice and the jackfruit tasted a little off. ‘Saving grace’ were the pork sinigang and the fried bangus.
