Little Nick's Bbq - Rockford

The food and service were outstanding. I ordered a two-meat dinner, which included brisket and chicken, along with sides of macaroni and cheese and Gouda/jalapeño cornbread. The portions were generous, and the flavor was exceptional. Both the cornbread and macaroni and cheese had a nice kick to them that really awakened my palate. The brisket was tender and flavorful, while the chicken was delicious—smoky and juicy. I even have leftovers for another meal. Although there is no dining area, taking the food home is truly a delight. The staff is very friendly and eager to assist with your choices.

I tried Little Nick's for the first time last night and I was extremely impressed! I picked up my order at 6 p.m., and everything was ready when I arrived. The smell of smoke on the drive home was incredible! I ordered a half-pound of brisket and a half rack of ribs, along with beans, coleslaw, mac and cheese, and cornbread. The cornbread was flaky and delicious, and the sides were spot on. As for the BBQ—wow! I haven't tasted BBQ with such rich smoke flavor in a long time, especially not around here. The BBQ sauce wasn't even necessary, but it was also fantastic! I will definitely be returning. I also got to try Thad's award-winning brisket chili, and it might just be the best chili I've ever had in my life—as a fellow chili cook-off winner, I can confidently say that! So, definitely check these guys out! They have a wonderful family atmosphere, a talented chef, and amazing food!

I cannot recommend this place at all. The sides are $5 for what can only be described as sample sizes—my child wouldn't even be satisfied with that amount! I'm not exaggerating; it's literally just two spoonfuls. On top of that, the food is bland and lacks any seasoning.

Carry out order: pulled pork, brisket, and St. Louis Ribs. Sides of Mac n Cheese (creamy, cheesy goodness , Slaw (chilled and just the right amount of sweetness , Fries (perfectly seasoned , and Baked Beans (I can't even describe this. Nirvana. . Y'all this place is the bomb! EVERYTHING was delicious. The sauce really brought it home too. WILL. BE. BACK.

Fabulous ribs....the rub was the best! So so coleslaw. A bit pricey but among the BEST ribs we've ever ever had, including in Memphis! Could be a bit more welcoming and would love to have a few specials. Great ribs!
