Texas House Grill - Rockdale

I had the Cheese Texana Enchiladas. They were Excellent.. my server Sweet young Lady, very attentive.

Ok to start it off i ordered two or the times which they were out of my first 3 options. The waitress wasn't very attentive at all I had to bring her my cup for a refill after it being empty for about 20 minutes. The cook and I'm assuming owner brought out my shrimp spilling a couple of them on the floor I addressed it letting him know and he didn't even offer to replace them and I was just shorted 2. My girlfriend was served her food which was tostadas with rice and beans. The rice was super hard nasty tasting and crunchy as well as the tostadas were HORRIBLE. I gave this place 2 stars only because I actually did like the shrimp. The service was horrible as well as the majority of the food. I would not recommend giving this ppace a try when there are much better options nearby.

I went to this restaurant with a group for lunch on Friday. The place has a simple look and can only seat about a dozen tables. However, the food quality is outstanding. They have a diverse menu featuring classic Tex-Mex dishes, along with salads, burgers, and other diner favorites. I especially loved their Texana enchiladas, which came with cheese enchiladas, rice, and beans smothered in chili con carne (see picture). They also served us chips and salsa, which was on the milder side. We shared nachos and a tostada dish, while others in our group opted for salads, BLT sandwiches, and shrimp dinners. Everyone was pleased with their meals, which shows that the restaurant's unassuming exterior is misleading—the food is fantastic! Finally, the prices are very reasonable. My enchiladas were only $8.95 before tax and tip.
