Bidra med feedbackExcellent food and service. We made dinner reservations since we were a large group of over 20 people. Restaurant handled such a large party very well. All the food came out at about the same time and was really good. Chitarra pasta was so fresh. Lamb was excellent as was the verdure (greens) and even the French fries (wedges) were crispy seasoned well. Everyone enjoyed the food. Only down side was it was unseasonably hot with no breeze, some fans would have been nice.
This osteria is unique in more than one way. It's located high above a very deep canyon in a beautiful village. The owner is a great sculptor and his work can be seen in a restaurant and in the village. They also make great liqueurs such as wild fennel limone you can buy. In a hot summer evening it was great to sit outside with a gentle wind blowing. Our antipasto was mind blowing at least 10 different salumis plus cheeses and a dish called Pallotte cac e ov (cheese and egg balls in a red sauce). Our pasta was delicious Chitarra in salsa di zafferano e salsiccia con ricotta stagionata affumicata di pecora but it can be too much after a generous antipasto. Luckily we had a possibility to take the house digestivo one of the liqueurs. A great evening and truly genuine food.
Not the very fastest service, but who wants to rush whilst in Italy, however the food was great, especially the meat dishes.
