Black Swan - Ripon

Didn't have our booking when we arrived. If you ask for a port and Lemon and are asked if you want a pint, it really sets the scene. The menu was very limited and we had 3 lots of fish and chips and a cake. because the meals we selected from the website were not available. One of the fish arrived in at at least 5 broken pieces and we were told, "That as it came out of the frit, but he can do another if you don't want it" what we didn't want was waiting. Desserts were really a joke. A menu with 3 desserts and a cheese board where you were not available and the other 2 remaining deserts were only chocolate had 2 portions of each left, makes you question their freshness and whatever the choice for the other 4 diners would be left. Answer is zero. Because we didn't want chocolate, we left the desserts. 100 pounds for a very disappointing evening. The waitress was lovely, but completely untrained. Our 4 drinks arrived at a time and the coffees were the same. I finished mine before the 4th coffee came. I had a tip on the waitress because she was beautiful and it wasn't her fault. We went to the back door and although he was there, the landlord couldn't even thank us. Surely it won't go back.

Really enjoyed our Sunday dinner the 2 generous slices of beef melted in the mouth, carrots, peas, maische potato, braterei, cauliflower cheese, half-crushed cale (not like crispy sea weeds and a delicious gravy absolutely beautiful, oh had a very nice grilled cocktail to begin a large pint and finish an Irish coffee, normally brat staff prefer very fast, no fu

We had two nights here beautiful apartment . very clean room staff is amazingly very warm and welcoming. eating is also fantastic.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights stay very spacious rooms.. The food was very fesh and delicious .. nice n friendly staff.. Lovely thank you.. Will deffently be back.. Highly recommend

This is a fab place to stay fantastic views-such friendly and kind staff and the room we stayed in was 5*.We've been back twice and hope to visit again soon. There are such great walks round about too....x
