Venga Chiringuito - Rio de Janeiro

A good Spanish tapas restaurant in the Copacabana beach area of Rio de Janiero. I visited it on 3 occasions during my 10 night stay. I opted for tapas, but there was a larger selection on the menu.

Was ripped off, our bill came to 356 reais according to the menu, 10% should come to 392 reais but we were charged 430.56 reais, 38 reais more. I didn't realise it at the time, so I have tried to contact them by email and messenger but was ignored. Food wasn't great, service unfriendly.

Have always been very happy with Venga Ipanema but had a disastrous experience today at Venga Copacabana. Ordered two food items. They did not have either one and we had to order others. Ordered two glasses of white wine. They brought an open bottle which had gone bad. Did not have any more of the wine usually sold by the glass and the waiter insisted we had to buy a bottle if we wanted wine. The manager came to our table and rudely told us the same. How about apologizing for bringing bad wine to our table and offering anything else we wanted by the glass? Needless to say we left without eating and will not be returning.

Lovely Spanish restaurant in Copacabana, not far from Ipanema. Really tasty and delicious paella, but frankly, what they advertise as enough for 2 people is hardly big enough for 1 person (and we weren't even particularly hungry). The service is really nice and friendly though.

Favorites: Trio de ferituras del Mar tapas. A tapas spanish style restaurant with great location and a nice vibe. It is located in Copacabana beach, with nice view of the ocean. The staff are friendly and the food is great.
