Bidra med feedbackVisited Kew Gardens for my Mothers 60th and stumbled across this lovely cafe on the way out of the train station. The food was lovely and we found a friendly cat sat near to our table who was really cute. The food in the glass cabinet as you walked through looked homemade and really nice. We really were spoilt for choice. The parents has stepped in due to staff sickness and we’re very friendly and had high attention to detail.
It’s a shame this cafe ‘only accepts cash’ and no debit or credit cards. Luckily we had just enough cash between the two of us to have breakfast. The location is great and the atmosphere inside is lovely. We ordered two English breakfast and English breakfast tea which is separate (not included as part of the English breakfast) unfortunately the breakfast only comes with scrambled eggs as default and not offered fried or poached eggs and also does not include any sausages or baked beans. The food was nice, however I won’t be returning as it’s a ‘cash only cafe’.
Ignorant of hygiene regulations. Aggressive older man abused me when I explained the quiche which looked very good on the display burnt my tongue and was rubbery and overcooked. Incorrectly quoted hygiene regulations as the reason for the overcooked quiche. No chance of reassessing how to reheat quiche or ask customer their preferences? Lovely salad and potatoes hope the staff are treated well. Wonderful location.
Located right near the Kew Station, this charming corner cafe is a delight to the eyes as well as the taste buds. Indoor and outdoor seating, a great selection of savoury sweet treats, very good coffee and delightful service.
Would certainly never go back here ... queued for a while at the counter (you have to order there) and noticed it all seemed a bit chaotic, but then when we reached the point where you could order (it was around 1.30pm) we were informed that because there 's no chef you couldn 't order meals, only cakes etc. I complained that as a courtesy there ought to be a note at the entrance to inform people of this at which point an elderly man emerged from the kitchen and had a go at me in a most aggressive manner. I pointed out it would only take a minute to put a note for customers and he said they were too buy and told me to leave, which I was doing anyway. A dreadful place.
