Basilico - Richmond Upon Thames

We ordered delivery from Deliveroo and unfortunately, the pizza boxes arrived on their sides, causing the toppings to shift and revealing a undercooked base. To put it simply, it was the worst pizza I have ever had. It lacked flavor and clearly was made with no care or effort.

I expected something amazing for the price we paid. Richmond has some fantastic takeout spots, but we had to order from here because Luna di Luca was closed. Unfortunately, the pizzas were small, lacked an authentic Italian taste, and arrived cold with almost biscuit-like crusts. I have bought better pizzas for less at Tesco. I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. I feel disappointed by Deliveroo.

If you're charging £26 for a large pizza you shouldn't then be charging £2.99 for delivery as well. Talk about an insult to injury.

While the pizzas are delicious ours arrived cold. When I called to complain I was told that my pizza had arrived more than 25 minutes earlier that it actually did and it couldn't possibly be cold. The employee was rude and basically implied I was lying.

I’m writing a review because I don’t recognise the other opinions. We have pizza from Basilico Sheen about once a week and it’s always excellent. The pizza arrives quickly, and piping hot. I note that we now need to order from the Basilico website directly (not through Deliveroo). The delivery drivers are polite and keep a safe distance. I wonder if Basilico now deliver themselves so they have more control on timescales.
