Barmy Arms - Richmond Upon Thames

This restaurant is a fantastic choice by the river, especially on game days. They offer fast service, excellent beer, and a lovely setting. It's the perfect spot to stop by before a match on a sunny day.

We were searching for a riverside pub between Staines and Richmond to meet up with some old friends. This was the second pub on our list, but we quickly decided to move on. The prices for drinks were high, one of the beers had run out the night before without a new one being tapped, and the overall atmosphere was lackluster. There were no flowers, the hedge was overgrown, and the music was too loud.

The new chef has fainted. make you beauty! They have done so well on their first day not only their food fill our beak, but it filled our souls, honestly so amazing! the chicken wings were perfectly boiled and tender and the steak was beautiful and tasteful. will come back to any case. the service was also amazing. 100% would recommend. by violet mandana and maria

We sat in the open opposite the view of the river and the island eel pie. it was pretty busy, ordered a few toasties I think was quite expensive. bless the girl who worked there, she literally had to order at the bar, bring out the food and delete the tables.

This pub was a disappointment just after Covid....but as part of the Greene King chain, it was subject to the brand insistence of downloading the app and booking. The beauty of this space is location. Whatever the time of year, the views over to Eel Pie are stunning and part of the joys of Twickenham. It it here, and The Green that make this environment. The rest is distinctly chavvy and/or smug. Here....just enjoy the beauty.
