Secco Wine Bar - Richmond

Had the 5 course tasting. Salt cod croquettes were some of the best I have had. Great staff and great wine selection at a reasonable price.

Customer Service Not To Be Savored At Secco. Out and about to enjoy a nice glass 'o, and celebrate a break in the rain, we ducked into Secco for a little treat. The bar was full; there were a number of empty tables. My partner and I like to sit side by side, rather than across from each other, as he suffers from a congenital hearing issue and wears hearing aides. We were immediately asked to not sit next to each other in this manner. I explained the situation to the waitress (trying not to embarrass my date), and pointed out that there were plenty of the small vertical tables. Had a great dinner here last night! It was my birthday so we wanted someplace special. We started with a rose and a cheese board with jambon. Fabulous! Then we had an Italian white wine (can't recall the grape) paired with fried oysters and razor clams with squid ink pasta. Both dishes and the wine were amazing. Then we moved on to a red, nebbiolo, paired with the duck confit and arancini. Again, everything was super delicious and perfectly seasoned. Finally a weeping in the middle of the rva breweries! fantastic place with tons selection. and great location in the middle of the fan!

Brown butter gelato! my sister and I were eating here yesterday and having the most delicious food. No one was there to greet us at the front so that we were initially confused whether we were sitting or not. After someone moved to an empty table, someone came over and sat down on another table. the night improved dramatically from there. we shared a cheese plate before we order dinner that was phenomenal. we were impressed by the portion size of the appetizer salad my sis had eaten for dinner. dessert was a brown buttergelato with brown butter crumbs. from this world! our server was friendly and gave us attention without being overlaid. will come back...read more
