Fresh Press Coffee - Richmond

This delightful dessert and coffee shop, situated across from Lansdowne, is definitely worth checking out. I tried the burnt Basque cheesecake, which was quite tasty. However, I found the Earl Grey lavender drink to be a bit lacking in flavor. On the bright side, the coconut matcha was rich and flavorful, making it very enjoyable.

This is a very small café with just three tables inside, but the service is exceptionally friendly. The coffee was decent, though it didn’t really stand out to me. It was served in a wider cup, which caused it to cool down a bit by the time it reached me. I ordered the drip coffee for CAD 4.50. I found the coffee to be somewhat lacking in character. I was hoping for a specialty coffee shop with a selection of local brews, but they only offer coffee from Tom Bargen. The coffee I tried was a blend, and while the packaging (labeled "Always Sunny") didn’t specify the origin, I suspect it was from Central America.

This charming little café has a warm and inviting ambiance, though it was rather warm inside and outside, likely due to the 28-degree weather that day. The owner was incredibly helpful, taking the time to explain the differences among the various coffee beans. I ended up purchasing a light-roasted bean that lived up to my expectations, which is a rare find in Canada. My only suggestion would be to reduce the volume of the music a bit and perhaps consider offering additional brands of beans as well.

I recently visited this coffee shop after reading some reviews, eager to try something new since I'm not familiar with Richmond. I ordered two Americano coffees, but they arrived lukewarm. After a few sips, I had to ask them to heat them up, and unfortunately, the taste was very disappointing—bitter and stale! The prices were steep as well. The pictures on their website are misleading; the place is small and cramped, and the seating becomes uncomfortable after a short time. I would strongly advise against visiting this café. It's hard to understand how they could mess up such a simple coffee order.

This is a fantastic place for coffee! The service is both amazing and friendly, and the coffee is outstanding—certainly some of the best my wife and I have had in Vancouver. The gentleman who served us truly knows his craft. I highly recommend visiting this spot!
