Miller's Cheese House - Rice Lake

On our way to Rice Lake in Trego, we noticed a sign for Miller's Cheese House. A group of friends from Illinois, eager to try some cheese, decided we needed to stop the next day when they were open. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly gentleman behind the counter who was incredibly helpful in answering all our questions. We ended up purchasing a variety of cheeses and fudge. He provided excellent recommendations and even explained the best way to buy some of the special cheeses we chose. Additionally, he went out of his way to pack fresh cheese curds for us since they had just run out before we arrived. If I find myself back in the area, I will definitely return.

The food was incredibly delicious! I ended up buying more than what was shown in the pictures, and the caramel was simply amazing. The salsas were fantastic as well. The owners were very kind and knowledgeable; they really know their cheese!

The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the cheese and meats are outstanding. I'm a big fan of their summer sausage. We also discovered a cheddar cheese made with Carolina Reaper paprika, which has quickly become a personal favorite. Since I live quite far away, I inquired about shipping options. The woman who answered my questions was very informative about the best ways to place an order, especially since shipping costs can be quite high during the warmer months. In the meantime, we're lucky enough to go out of our way to visit them whenever we get the chance to travel to Wisconsin.

The ice is so good and creamy. I'm a fan of most cheeses. There is a ton of gifts and small foods such as pumpkin butter and beef sticks. The building is old and a little down. I only question the cleanliness of the building through the first appearance when walking. You can taste the ice cream and cheese before buying it completely worth it.

Awesome place to stop by on an annual trip to Wisconsin. They have a great selection of cheese for sure. Anything from chocolate to morel mushroom. Easy to park great help and of course delicious Wisconsin cheese. I have visited this location at least 10 times over the last 20 years or so. Can't wait for the next trip.
