The Mercury Cafe - Regina

For lunch with the family. Lived place, but the lunch break ended when we were sitting. Slow service, given the lunch break, it had a long time to come for food. The fish and chips ordered. Chips were good and hot. Fish... was hot, but greasy and slightly undercut. Did the staff not advise because it was a bit of a gong show, had to ask for everything that it was as if our server could not remember that you need utensils, you need contingencies, you need drinks refilled, napkins etc. had to request each item individually. I don't know if I'm going to give it again, it seems like they're at the top of many things today.

When entering the restaurant, we immediately noticed an angry staff member. We have continued to observe and as it appeared to us, the work was done by this employee while the other employee does not draw their weight. Unfortunately, we had to serve the wrong employees. I asked about an article three times before I got up and got it myself. I always type 18% she got a .05 tip. While the food itself was okay, the service was terrible.

Standard Barbecue Diner fare for the most part, although there are some welcome healthy alternatives. Good menu choices for every taste. The quality of the meal was certainly sufficient. Slow service however departed from the overall experience. 10 minutes before the menus... finally arrived at which point 15 before our order had passed. If you do not take an hour for lunch, especially if you leave your visit after the usual lunch break.

99% of the time the food is amazing, but on these take from order my clubhouse was a catastrophe..ca 2 small pieces of chicken..no tomatoes mostly salad and burned toast. very very disappointed.then goodness the fries were enough..

In the city for the day, and had made a list of new (to us) places we wanted to try for lunch. The Mercury was a great choice. Nostalgic decor, which is actually more original and authentic than a decorator's decision, with some interesting old...photos of the neighbourhood on the walls. Service was quick, friendly and efficient with lots of smiles. One burger off the menu and one Reuben sandwich lunch special with sides food came quickly, piping hot and looking good. Tasted as good as it looked, with more than generous portions. The bill was prompt, and we we happily on our way. Recommend for a great lunch spot!
