Bidra med feedbackThe chairs are awful! Completely awful! They're metal and worse than any kind of outdoor furniture you can think of, they dig into your sides and there's no cushion, all you have is metal bars to lean against and a metal seat... the atmosphere is nice, it's a place that you want to sit and enjoy the company of your friends with a nice wine or whiskey, but you can't because the chairs are so awful! The Waitresses have gotten a little bit better throughout the years, however they still are not knowledgeable at all and are rude. The food is decent though, if you don't mind paying lots of money for getting a small amount of food.
I like the food, in fact most of the menu sounds wonderful. Beware though that the portions are small so you need to order several courses if you have an appetite. The only think I don't like is the chairs, quite uncomfortable. The restaurant has that big city feel with cool modern decor and a menu that is innovative and different from your typical eatery in Regina. The service was very good, friendly but not exaggerated (and therefore fake) that makes us feel at ease.
Lunched there on a blizzardy day so it was very quiet. The server was great, quick and attentive, and we felt the menu had enough choices. The cookie that came with the lunch soup and sandwich special was a great little touch. The steak sandwich was very tasty but light on the steak, or I would have gone for 4 stars. Oh, and those metal chairs... torture for anyone with more than 32 inch hips... The high bars stools might be better
We made a reservation for a farewell dinner at Malt City one evening with a group of 25 people. The restaurant was able to accommodate us and the waitress (who was the only one working) did a commendable job taking care of our group. Despite arriving at different times over an hour, she remained polite and attentive to our needs. When we were ready to order, she efficiently took our orders, although we had to wait a long time for our food. Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. While the menu appeared intriguing, the dishes were only average. The steak sandwich had strange flavors that didn't quite mesh well, and both the chicken sandwich and lobster cheese sandwich were subpar. The restaurant itself has a lovely setting with high ceilings and old-fashioned charm, but it can get quite loud due to the acoustics. Overall, it's a decent downtown bar for a large group gathering on a Thursday, but the food might not warrant a return visit.
Cool ambiance. Pricey drinks. Just a word to whoever came up with the " homemade Clamato" for Caesars- it's not working. When not one out of 8 people can stomach it, it's bad. There's a reason Motts is a billion dollar company- just get regular Clam.Anyway, we found the server friendly albeit slightly slow to check back with us. She may have had too many tables. Most people at our table liked their food. I had the seared tuna salad. The fish and dressing were tasty but the rest of the meal didn't work together (giant rock hard croutons, bitter lettuce cores that my butter knife could barely cut)Pricey for what you get but in line with downtown prices.I would return to this place someday but no time soon.
