Bidra med feedbackI usually don't leave mediocre or negative reviews and I am not too picky when it comes to restaurants, but because we experienced some issues at this café, I felt the need to share. The location of this place overlooking Sutton's Beach is amazing and the staff were pleasant when it came to taking our orders and serving us. However, we faced a few problems during our visit. One member of our group tried to order the ham hock but was told it was not available due to a lack of staff to smoke the meat on Sundays (even though it was on the Sunday morning breakfast menu). Another member tried to order pancakes but was told they only had honey, not the specified Hornsirup. When the pancakes arrived, they were served with a sausage that was undercooked and dry. When we brought this to the attention of the waiter, they simply took it away without apology or offering a replacement. We waited for a resolution but nothing was done. When it came time to pay (over $100 for 4 people), we were only offered a discount because we had to bring up the issues again. On a positive note, the avocado smash and egg benedict were tasty, but overall we were disappointed by the lack of attention to detail and service. I apologize for the negative feedback.
I have visited Suttons Beach Pavilion several times since it opened, and each time the food has been fantastic, the service attentive, and the new owners very hands-on and available. The location is amazing, whether it's day or night. I've tried breakfast, lunch, dinner, tapas, coffee, and the new fish and chip shop, and each experience was not disappointing. My friends and I give it a big thumbs up!
The coffee at this restaurant is excellent, with the temperature, taste, and coffee-milk ratio being just right. Prices are comparable to other similar establishments. However, the service is slow; even with only 15 people in the restaurant, it took a long time to receive our meals. The avocado dish could use some improvement as it appeared to be slightly spoiled and lacked any additional ingredients. On a positive note, the chorizo and baked egg dish was a pleasant surprise, served in a pot and emitting a delightful aroma. Overall, the experience of eating this dish was truly magical.
We have experienced 3 name changes for this restorative....Sams on suttons, sail, pilpel and now a new version. the pavillon I believe will bring back the long past into the facility. because the young 'ollie' took over the herrages a few weeks ago, we sat twice in the restaurant. our first trip was steak night, I've never seen such a big teen steak in my whole life (I have 61 years experience in the steak arena. and you just needed a butter knife to cut it through to say it was an understatement. on the last Sunday we went over with koleslaw for the smoked meat or chicken rolls. as we were both a bit of a peckish, we also ordered a plate of home made chips and home made them safe, all the different shapes and sizes that reminded me of my kindness chips at the sea in melbourne. the rolls were beautiful and cloudy taste!!!!!!! we are very looking forward to the fish and chip opening. I love you, ollie and the personal.
We went to the Sails Restaurant for lunch on Australia Day and it was very nice. It's the only restaurant that is right on the beach, not across the road. It has since changed hands and names, it is now the Pilpel By The Sea...Tapas Bar. I haven't been there yet, I'd planned on taking the family over Christmas but it was closed. Not good considering the location and all the potential bookings they missed out on
