Candlelight Inn - Red Wing

Dave and Eva are great hosts! Of course, the rooms and home were immaculate and Red Wing is a scenic and beautiful location on the river, but the way they welcome you and make you feel like a part of the family is the icing on the cake! Breakfast was sooo good and the time they spend sharing the history of home and surroundings was quite fascinating.... my wife and I took a short trip to Frontenac State Park for some cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Excellent views of the river bluffs! That was a much used way and we felt refreshed when we were gone. Thank you. Dave and Eva for the superior hospitality!

What a wonderful place filled with wonderful history of Red Wing. A beautiful and charming place. Dave and Eva were excellent hosts. Three course gourmet breakfast with baked French toast coffee, egg fish, Belgian waffles and other pleasures (recepts available). Simple waling distance to historic city centre. Dave and Eva also offer great suggestions for the area of food, attractions and other historic places. This is definitely our first stop when we come back.

Wow. This place is amazing. The attention to detail, the decor and its hospitality is above the top. Owners Dave and Eva are so friendly and caring. They make sure everything is perfect for your stay. We were in the Butternut Suite. Room on the first floor. It was so inviting. Two persons whirlpool was relaxing, and the bed was so comfortable at the fireplace. They serve you a 3-course breakfast that was excellent. Wine, crackers and cheese served a happy hour in the evening. You also have a great veteran discount. Can thank them enough for our stay. Will be back and come back very much. We had a very nice stay over the lab weekend. The owners are super hospitable and accommodating. On arrival we were presented with cheese assortment, snacks and wine. We missed the planned breakfast, but were still offered. The owners had a few very nice conversations with us. Rooms are spacious and welcoming. The place is located in the centre of Red Wing, but in a quiet area. Very recommended!

If my wife I could give this place more stars we would. The owners Dave Eve were such great people the 3 course breakfast was amazing! We stayed in the Butternet Room loved relaxing in the library one of the 2 evenings we were here. Both mornings we had such great times with the others that were at the table with us. We are very busy with work, parenting, etc this was the perfect get away for us. Truly amazing! Thanks Dave Eve for welcoming us the way you did.
