Spud & Dog - Red Lake

We tried the fries and gravy, as well as the deep fried dill pickle spears, all of which were delicious. The vendor truck is located on Main Street in Red Lake. The service was fast, and we enjoyed sitting at picnic tables while watching float planes and mama and baby loons on the water. The prices were reasonable.

Yes, you read that correctly, they really know how to make fries. They will serve you the best homemade fries in town. I've been to other chip wagons and can assure you that spud dog make the fries right. Double fried. Cooked, soft in the inside yet crispy on the outside. The chicken fingers are good too. Poutine? Hell yes!

The current owner/operators have been in business for at least 10 years. I have eaten here many times over that span. It's deep fried food but sometimes that's what you want. I like the poutine. Very decadent. The outside eating area is always very clean, very quick service and a nice view of the lake with the occasional float plane landing. It is a seasonal food truck but their opening is the official start of summer. Reasonable prices for the end of the road. Literally the end of the road!

This food truck is located next to the business district of Red Lake's Main Street. They offer a variety of sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, and more, but their standout dish is definitely their French fries. They are comparable to the ones you would find at Five Guys Burgers and Fries. We made a special trip to this food truck twice just to get their fries. Despite being 1,200 miles away from home at a secluded fishing camp, the journey into town was well worth it.
