Bidra med feedbackWe had some pre-dinner drinks at this bar-gelateria. We both had an Aperol Spritz. Not rocket science to prepare those, so no bonus points for that. The bar is at a nice location, whti a view of the old church on a square which is lively but not too crowded or noisy. Just nice.
We had a wonderful lunch here. Simple paninis and the all-American Cokes. The gelateria was amazingly clean, the service perfect and fast, and the owner a delight. Many locals passed through to say hello and grab something to eat while we sat down. I do have the say it was a delight to see the owner make the paninis on the spot, fresh for us. That kind of extra attention was great and made our all too quick stop that more enjoyable.
In my search of the perfect ice cream, I am always eager to try a new ice cream shop. Unfortunately it happened that I went to Gelateria Montallegro one night when they were very very busy with the rest of the bar, but no queue at the ice cream counter, so I went in and waited to be served. No one greeted me although they saw me. Not very nice welcome, though they served me quite quickly. The ice cream was definitely below average... I regretted stopping there. I wouldn't go back there, I would rather try a different one, the ice cream cannot be worse elsewhere.
Apart from the little selling art that have the two ladies standing at the counter. I asked for a coffee... I put on the counter € 1 and in a way they made me note that it was 1,10..... then the coffee arrived... I asked for brown sugar.... and in fact they brought me the crude.... and then I was firm, impassibile in front of the barn until the two angels remembered to give me the clashes....in liguria is a habit of mine, but learn that the receipt is called 'fiscale' so it must be given to those who consume and must be issued by those who sell something!
We have done a nice outdoor aperitif with different appetizers, olives, chips and bruschetta cutter! very good and pleasant and very friendly service. When I get back to rapallo, it'll be a stop!
