Gigi's Cupcakes - Raleigh

I've visited this bakery several times, and I have to say that my experience has always been wonderful. Their cupcakes are fresh, moist, and absolutely delicious. On my most recent visit, I popped in to grab a cupcake that I enjoyed on my first visit not long ago, and I was excited to see they had one left in the display. However, when I asked about it, the woman working there suggested against buying it, mentioning that it didn't look freshly baked and seemed a bit dry. Her honesty really impressed me; instead of just wanting to make a sale, she prioritized the quality of the product. I've seen this woman before, and I believe she might be the owner or manager. She always has a pleasant demeanor and clearly takes pride in her baked goods. If you're looking for something sweet for a special occasion or just for yourself, I highly recommend checking them out. Their desserts are delicious, and the customer service is excellent.

The employee on duty appeared to be new, so I requested to speak with someone more experienced. After leaving my contact information, I was called the following day by the manager. While she offered an "apology," it felt more like she was making excuses, stating that they didn't know the purpose of the order and only had my name and phone number. She mentioned that the person who took my order was new and had already left the job after just two days. Although she offered to prepare the cupcakes, they wouldn't be ready until four days later than planned! To top it off, the only compensation she offered was a mere $0.50 discount. In summary, if you plan to place an order here, make sure you have a backup plan, as there’s no guarantee you’ll receive your order, and the staff isn’t particularly helpful.

I ordered 7 cupcakes but only received 4, and they weren't even the ones I had requested. I don’t understand why they gave me random selections instead of just canceling the order.

I wanted to like these, unfortunately, that is not the case. Purchased 2 cupcakes, Nilla Amore and Lemon Champagne. They were dry and stale to put it nicely. The cupcakes were bland, having no flavor, the only thing that tasted even remotely like lemon was the oreo mini lemon cookie on top of the Lemon cupcake. I tried eating eat, waiting on at least a hint of flavor, nope nothing. Don 't even get me started on the other cupcake. A waste of money. I 'm so disappointed, apparently the original recipe and owner must have changed. I called and was told the owner 's name is Madhu. I asked to speak to her about a refund and was told to leave my number and that, the owner will call me when she 's ready? The original Gigi 's was pure quality. Save yourself some time, energy, and money, buy from anywhere but this establishment, under new ownership, has ruined a good thing. I will not be back, but for customers in the future, I can only hope they go back to the original Gigi 's way, of fresh quality cupcakes, otherwise I don 't see how they will remain a liable business.

So happy to be near a Gigi’s now!! Found this place beside a hotel my daughter I stayed in while in Savannah years ago and was hooked!! Both the cupcake and the frosting is amazing!! Years back the frosting was sky high
