Sportsman Rv Campground - Radford

I had a really disappointing experience at this place. The sewer hookup is quite far away, about 55 feet, which made things inconvenient. The area is extremely cramped and uneven. The electric box was filled with bugs, which was really off-putting. On top of that, I'm struggling to get my $50 deposit back for cleaning the site. It feels like a complete scam. They keep blaming Rover Pass, but I can't get in touch with them to verify anything. My credit card statement shows that no refund has come through. Be cautious if you're thinking about visiting!

The new kitchen is open daily except for Sundays, and it offers lovely river views from the campground. There’s a picnic area with several outdoor tables, as well as some indoor seating available for dining.

I’m giving this place 2 stars because the employee was kind enough to offer us a better spot. The initial area we were assigned for our RV was at a steep incline next to the highway, and we would have needed a 10-foot jack just to get somewhat level. To make matters worse, there was loud construction noise, and we were right under a busy overpass behind an Exxon gas station. Although the employee was very nice and seemed aware that the quality of the site didn't live up to the advertising, it wasn't enough to warrant a higher rating.

We had a fantastic camping experience with our family this past weekend. It is what it is, but we have no complaints! The place could use some upgrades and care, but after all, it's camping! Rooms: 5/5

I can't wait to leave. I made the mistake of not reading all the reviews. The four-star ratings were primarily about the food, but we are currently at a campsite that falls short in many areas. While the view of the river is lovely, we will be spending our evening indoors. There's no fire pit or picnic table, which is disappointing. Yikes, lesson learned. Service: 1/5.
