Emilio's Cafe - Quepos

Came here based on find my gf reviews. Our server was very nice and confidently said to not worry about gluten precautions. First appetizer Caribbean ceviche had fried plantains in it. We got a little worried about the fried part, asked server to double check, and ended up being contaminated! Got lucky we caught it. They prepared a new dish with the fried item on side, then was safe. As for main, had the grilled red snapper which was delicious and gf! Passed on desserts as they were all in same area and can’t trust baking process. Overall a great meal just had to be overly cautious.

Ate here twice had Casados once and a Carribean fish with rice and veggies. Very good, understood cross contact. Good coffee too.

We had dinner last night as it was Friday night, they had live music with dancers. Not only did we have a great meal, but we had fun entertainment! You have gf beer on the menu, but nothing else is marked gf, you need to ask, but our server was very knowledgeable. My daughter had the Surf Tower and she loved it! I had the power protein shell with Quinoa it was okay. You have a whole dessert case with a ton on cake they had 3 gf options that were groundless. Chocolate Clementine, espresso chocolate almond chocolate. We tried the almond chocolate.
