Temakase Long Island City - Queens

I went out for dinner tonight and was extremely disappointed. I love sushi, but this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. There were so many issues. The rice was overcooked, which is a fundamental mistake for a sushi restaurant. The rolls came out too quickly; my friend and I were still in the middle of one roll when the next one arrived. We felt rushed to finish each roll, and by the time we got to the next, the seaweed was already soggy. We had been seated for only 10 minutes and found ourselves on our fourth roll! What’s the rush? Some of the rolls had interesting fillings and were presented nicely, which earns this place 2 stars instead of just 1. However, it was honestly not worth the money at all.

The food was incredibly delicious and fresh. The young staff behind the counter were friendly and kind.

The food was excellent, and the woman making the hand rolls was really pleasant and friendly! However, I rated this place three stars due to the hostess at Temakase Long Island City, who was quite off-putting. From the moment we entered until we ordered our food, she was the reason we couldn't give a higher rating. Make sure to bring your reservation confirmation and don’t rely on her for any questions about the menu.
