Magellan - Pyrmont

Amazing food, Amazing Location, Amazing place.. Service - beyond terrible. The night started with us taking a previously purchased Group On to the restaurant where we ignored for five minutes while he chatting to another table (the only other table in the whole restaurant) Once we were finally greeted, he stressed about how he cannot accept groupons which are not in paper form (who prints vouchers anymore) He told us to leave and go and find a printer - at 8pm on Saturday night... which we did after nearly putting me in tears after being so rude.  Went back and had our food and drinks in spite of the rudeness. We decided to leave after an amazing meal and enough to drink and lovely service from his waitress when he was telling her off so loud about her timesheet. I felt really sorry for her and it was very awkward for the restaurant.  I won't ever come back here.

Echoing other reviews here, service is terrible and eat in the average! you have to say the location and the facility of the restaurant are good, but everything else is terrible! I can add the commentary about the salty, simply not edible, salt to keep the cadry and reduce costs! No wonder I have never seen this place busy. they should just pack it in and not disturb. the owner is extremely rude and loud fucked! I guess this happens when you're over your job. Do not risk good night by entering this substandard facility. many better options in the opposite, just a short walk to the darling harbour or the casino.

The service was terrible. We brought a voucher off Groupon. When we arrived with out a printed copy of the voucher the owner carried on for over about how he can't get paid with out the paper voucher. All other restaurants seems to be able to use the email version except him. He reluctantly seated us still carrying on about the voucher. Loudly complained to his kitchen staff about us. The food was average. It is a shame considering it is such a nice location and bar.

Amazing place. A fantastic traditional Portuguese Spanish venue, great atmosphere, with seriously stunning food. We're local in Pyrmont and visit regularly. Also a great wine list, with a really wide range of Portuguese reds whites for something different, along with a small Aussie selection some top shelf Penfolds including Grange!

Came to Magellan for a Portuguese chicken burgers and chips. The chicken breast was succulent and the sauce plentiful, the chips were crunchy and just the way I like them Interesting tapas menu, would love to come back and eat my way through the dishes.
