Pigpen Cafe, Restaurant & Bar

I went to this restaurant with a large group and was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of dishes available. The service was fast and the plates kept coming out one after another.

Located in Solenad 3, this restaurant is a favorite of ours when visiting Nuvali. They offer a variety of comfort food options. It's difficult to define it as just one type of cuisine...

The menu at this restaurant features a quote from Anthony Bourdain that reads, "Anyone who is a chef, who loves food, ultimately knows that all that matters is: is it good?"

I returned to PigPen for a second time because they serve a decent salad and a wide variety of good pork and beef dishes. I noticed the music this time - Grateful Dead and Van Morrison songs from my childhood in the 70s and 80s in the USA. This is the only restaurant in the Philippines where I've found bone marrow served that is not a part of bulalo soup or bulalo steak. Frankly I like the bulalo bone marrow better, but this was very good. It was nice to get to scoop it out of a long bone cut in half, but it might be better if not mixed with some kind of gravy. The Hungarian sausage was also good, but the gravy was not mentioned on the menu. The European salad was good, but would have been better without the unadvertised croutons. Despite those minor annoyances, I will go back to PigPen. If you like eating meat, you should try it out.

We enjoyed the food since they were very delicious. The only flaw that I can say is that its too oily even for pork dishes. Anyway, I still would recommend this place!
