Gracias.
Very limited menu, no pizza and a few pastas only?? Has changed from last year where we LOVED the food..this year not so much. Took our guests that said they wouldn't return. Spinach salad and spaghetti bolognez and Cesar salad and shrimp fettuccine very mediocre for PV. Only the chef speaks English, so he kinda took our order and then made it lol..saw him eating while cooking which kind of turned me off as well..no hand washing as he put stuff in his mouth in the kitchen ick!! Went to another Italian restaurant the next night just up the street and you just could not compare to two..don't waste your calories here.
A block off the El Malecon we found a great Italian Restaurant named Amore, and like the name you are going to love the food. The front of the restaurant is very inviting, and so were the staff when we entered the doorway. We were quickly seated, given our drinks, bread, and Tampenade. Let me say, I married into an Italian family and we eat a lot of Italian food. The bread, and the Tampenade was unbelievably good, we delayed ordering so we could enjoy the it, even asking for more. For the main courses we ordered the Iceberg Wedge Salad to share, Chicken Parm, and the Mama Mia Pizza. The Iceberg Wedge Salad was great, I love Blue Cheese, and there was no exception to it on this Salad, it was fresh, crisp and delicious. The Chicken was excellent, great breading, seasoning and overall flavor. The Pesto that was on the plate as a garnish was so flavorful, I ate it all, along with the Chicken. The portion was just right for me, I left full. The Mama Mia Pizza was served like it just came out of an oven in Italy. It was hot, and tasted fantastical. The ingredients were plentiful and the taste was mouth watering.During our meal we were waited on by a wonderful waitress, and checked on by the hostess, the Chef, and the owner of the restaurant, Jeff. After we finished our meal we had some Wine and mixed drinks and talked with the Chef about his formal training , which included Italian food, he was very interested in what we thought of the meal. The owner sat and talked with us as we finished up our drinks, he is from the U.S. and told us about the restaurant, it's history, menu, and about so many great things to enjoy in El Centro. Our best day in Puerto Vallarta was going to Amore, a good meal and spending time with friends, which is what the staff in the restaurant were by the time we departed that evening. We will definitely be going back to see them on our next trip to PV.Do yourself a favor, visit Amore and have a wonderful meal, and spend some time with the staff, you will make some memories.
