From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting, perfect for those looking to savor a meal. As for the food... it was absolutely incredible. I ordered the pig dog and a side of chips and salsa. The burrito was aesthetically pleasing and crafted with care. The ingredients tasted fresh and were thoughtfully prepared. I can honestly say it was a rich and satisfying burrito. The chips were made to order and crafted from blue corn, served with what tasted like a homemade salsa that had a hint of mango or something fruity in it. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, offering a refreshing alternative to the typical chain restaurants that dominate the food scene in Utah. This place was a breath of fresh air.
This restaurant feels like Taco Shangri-La. When it first opened in Provo, it didn’t even have a sign. If you were fortunate enough to find it, you discovered paradise. One time, we drove all the way from Southern California just to go to Blue Poblano, as it was far better than anything we found down there. Then it vanished, only to reappear in Sugarhouse. Bleu and her brother Mark are culinary masterminds (they founded Black Sheep Cafe), and now you can get your fix back in Provo. The new location is in the former space of Mtn West Burrito; it’s cozy and includes parking and a good number of indoor seats. The flavors will transport you back to the original location on Center St, with al Pastor and Carnitas Tacos served on homemade tortillas. They also have fresh salsas and guacamole. Yes, they may cost twice as much as typical street tacos (and I do enjoy a good street taco), but these are in a league of their own. Two tacos are usually just right for a meal, especially if you order extras. I'm hesitant to share this because I don’t want it to become too popular and hard to access, but I also don’t want it to disappear again... so here you go. Go try it!
The corn chips are thick and blue, and they prepare them fresh after you order, ensuring maximum freshness. Both the salsa and guacamole are fantastic, offering a different flavor profile than what I’ve experienced in this area. Every taco I had was outstanding. As a Texan, I’m a big fan of Mexican cuisine, and I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. The service was excellent as well.
Wow. I am very impressed by Blue Poblano. My husband and I were in Provo and saw a new restaurant, so we had to take a look. The window deeds fired Tacos Churros and I was sold immediately. We ordered some tacos, Chile cheese fries churros, got our drinks and sat in the sweet little dining area. When our food came to our table, my mouth started pouring. The presentation of the food alone was excellent. We started eating and Smirks came across our faces. The food was incredibly delicious and the ingredients were very high quality and the flavors were unique and new. This place doesn't taste like everything I ever had in Utah. Blue Poblano holds a similar taste profile to some of my favorite high-caliber restaurants in Las Vegas. Yeah, so good. I have seen a lot of people complaining about the price; that's not a taco truck. If you want $1,00 Tacos, visit a streetcar or go to Taco Bell. Update: My husband and I went back today (yes; two days in a row and had another great experience. 5 stars forever. We love Blue Poblano.
Tacos are good, but very expensive compared to Don Joaquins down the road. Fries and are wonderful. Fresh churros exceptional, best in my life. Will go just for those.
