Bidra med feedbackMy wife and I accidentally found this place. We didn't plan to eat at a beach table, but we were excited to have found this place. No on the cruise ship told us that there was a beach in Progresso here, so we were super happy to have found this place inadvertently. The waiter (manuel) was super friendly the keviche we had was delicious and it is a generous part. The tortilla chips were also very delicious. They had coronas that are hard to find in this part of Mexico, so that was an additional plus. Your wine card is limited, but this is not a great chic restaurant. You should know that there are many providers, but they are all friendly and not pushing in the least bit. Also the fake Cuban cigars they sell on the beach are half the price of fake Cuban cigars they sell at the port stores. The beach he sells has beautiful sand, not as beautiful as the sugar sand in the Florida Panhandle, but much better than corals in Cancun. Now that I know this beach is here, it will be our destination, and we plan to bring our swimsuits when we come back on our next cruise.
We have really good, huge drinks for 70 pesos, free sun loungers, excellent pasta and salads all day. Very recommended compared to the places on both sides!
That was our favorite beach food in Progreso. You will notice that the other spots serve away from a few blocks and often are not the cleanest and are not so good. At Elzello loco we had the Huevos rancheros and the coconut yarn. Both were very good. The prices were good at cocktails and food. You play live music even during the pandemic and we really enjoyed it!
Terrible food, service ok. We ordered white wine with lemon fish and tacos. Fish was bland served with cold vegatables and side of colder rice. Margarita was great. Come for a drink, be forewarned about the food. Should have went with the past reviews on this one. Other seafood restaurants next door had average 4.5 rating for a reason.
I won't go into the gory details, but needless to say, I may not be able to leave the house tomorrow. Feel free to read into that any way you want, I think I'm being generous.
