This is a lovely local pub. Welcoming on entry and cheap. £4.60 for two halves of Westons. Stowford Press also on draught. We didn't eat but as our visit was during the lunch period, the food being bought outside to those that were dining looked very good. If visiting Hay, give this place a visit.

This was a lovely little local pub. They made us all feel very welcome and served great food. Would very much recommend the steak and ale pie. We had a lovely evening.

Came here for dinner as the menu looked nice. I asked for my mash to be swapped out for chunky chips, waitress went to check with kitchen and she came back with a no, I said, can you not just put chips on the plate instead of mash, to which the lady stood next to me which looked like the owner said 'no, its already portioned out '. Which makes me think it 's not fresh and pre made? Anyway, working in hospitality I know that it 's an easy substitute to make and just laziness to not even try

Fabulous food and amazing staff. Make a visit your priority. 10/10 I had the home made faggots and I couldn't fault it! Potatoes had the right amount of garlic in it. Didn't even need the salt or pepper

We went in for a drink. Two out of the three serving staff were doing very little but we were ignored although they kept looking at us. We waited over ten minutes to be served then left in disgust. If you want to watch staff chatting this is the place to go. If you want a drink, don’t bother.
