The Puddle Dock - Portsmouth

Party of 4 with no reservation walked in directly in front of us. We had a reservation for a party of 4 and we were exactly on time. Hostess immediately sat the party in front of us and then told us we had to wait 20 minutes for a table. The table we eventually were seated was directly next to the party that had no reservation and was immediately seated. The food was, at very best, average in presentation and preparation, but certainly not a $32+ per person meal. The salads were good, the appetizer was a single piece of thick toast, slice of cheese, and 2 sliced artichokes. $16. Cod was cooked fine, navy beans cold. Duck had a sauce, that seemed like mostly ketchup. 1 vegan meal option, burnt and black pancakes(? , not sure what they were. The overall ambiance is very nice; the staff was friendly, server did her best. Party of 4, 3 total alcohol drinks, 2 cold coffees, 2 desserts. $350 with tip. Portsmouth has many restaurants, the value isn't there with this one.

Fantastic restaurant with a wonderful rustic and classy feel. Food and drinks are lights out. Will be a weekly regular in the future!

Mussel app on point. The pork belly was perfect just what i was hoping for. Skipped the bread and still didn't have room for desert not a lot of food, but very satisfying. Atmosphere congenial, wait staff attentive and overall ambiance very nice. we had reservations on a busy Saturday night but saw some folks able to get a seat at the bar. Fireplace, atmosphere, very nice evening in Portsmouth.

Amazing experience. the food was great, the price was great. we sat upstairs and the service was phenomenal.

We eat there quite often and every meal has been cooked to perfection. The bartender's creative drinks are exceptionally good. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. It is our top go to restaurant in Portsmouth!
