Green Bean At Pease - Portsmouth

Lot's of great salads and sandwiches. Great casual place to grab a bite to eat. Tomato, mozzerella, pesto sandwich and the Chinese Salad are my favorites.

This restaurant is a fantastic spot for a reasonably priced lunch featuring fresh, quality ingredients. However, it does have one major drawback: it's tucked away in Great Bay Community College, which means its hours vary widely depending on the school calendar. While I understand that their primary customers are students, the lack of clear and accurate hours on their website makes it difficult for locals—like us, who live just down the road in the Tradeport—to frequent the place. We've often stopped by for lunch only to find it closed, which has pushed it down to a second or third choice despite the excellent food they serve. I believe if they updated their website each semester to reflect the school calendar, they would attract more local employees looking for lunch options.

The turkey bacon horseradish sandwich is absolutely delicious. I've sampled various items from the menu and have always been pleased with my choices.

This is a cozy spot located within Great Bay Community College. They offer a salad bar and also allow you to order food at the counter. I really enjoy their soups, and their Thanksgiving sandwich is fantastic. They had a special chicken bacon ranch sandwich that I wish they would add to the regular menu. It may sound trivial, but I can't drink regular soda, and Green Bean has a variety of diet drinks available in their cooler, which is something I can't find anywhere else. This small detail really means a lot to me.
