Bidra med feedbackWe ate here for lunch and it was the most memorable meal of our visit to Porto. We caught the ferry from the Porto side of the river hoping to find a nice place to eat. We were not disappointed. The food was basic, but freshly cooked on a huge barbecue. It was tasty and very good value. Two of us had pork steak and the other 2 had salmon. It was served with potatoes and we ordered side salads which were excellent. The whole place had a homely feel and seemed to be run by a very large family. The wine, beer an sangria were also very low-priced but very drinkable. The customers were a mix of locals and tourists and there was a great vibe. Will go out of our way to visit again if we return to Porto. After lunch we had a pleasant stroll back down the river to Gaia to visit the port houses there.
Spectacular views over the Douro River. They have indoor/outdoor seating. We both ordered pizza that was thin crust and tasty. My husband chose the proscuitto with red sauce/organ/grape tomato pieces and I had the prosciutto with mushrooms that did not have a red sauce. The thin crust was great. Expecting better food, considering the reviews we read. $37 E with an average bottle of wine and sparkling water. Best part of the experience was the view of the river.
