Whelan's Irish Pub - Portland

You know a place can't be too bad when people who work there come during their off hours. The bartender was super friendly, the off duty cook was amazing, and the owner was hilarious. I look forward to returning.Food: 5/5

Irish dive bar with superb food. If you're down to earth and low maintenance but enjoy the finer things in life you will appreciate Whelan's. Straight up hidden gem. Their burgers are gourmet and the Dungarvin is the best one I've had in Portland so far. ? Kind staff to boot.Food: 5/5

As I came down through Portland City At the hour of twelve at night. Who should I see but the Spanish lady PDX edition of Spanish Lady. OMG only in Portland, Oregon I can find a nice Irish pub with good beer and food. I am not a big pub person but after a day of therapy this place does great wonders on me. Good service and food, what more can I ask for? This is a great place where you can do a jolly jig (no pun intended) but I really had a great time. Who knew a bar would be provided me prime minister quality service. It makes me feel like I am in Dublin myself. It feels so good here. I would come here again because there 's nothing I like better than Shepherd 's pie and some organic beer. I would come here again if I can, not to mention I have no problems boarding my bus back home. This time I would be riding a big green bus soon.

The parking was ridiculous. It was St Patrick's day, so I'll give them that. There wasn't really a spot where to order your drinks, so it took too long to get one drink. The best part was the semi lopsided pool table. The security didn't do much help but to stand there and watch the fights that started to break out, so I split before it got down heavy. I may be from Cali but I do know when uts time to go haha

Always look forward to eating here. Great place for Irish food. The bartender is really friendly and makes you feel welcome. It is also family-friendly before 9pm.Food: 5/5
