Beach Shack - Port Douglas

I initally felt like a pizza (specifically a plain old Margerita) when I decided to head to The Beach Shack but when I got there and viewed their menu I was a little disappointed they didn't have it - but they did have a good range of other delicious pizzas on offer. Unfortunately I didn't feel like any of them...I instead opted for an entrée of Pork Belly with sweet potato wedges. It was really nice although I didn't much like their version of a slaw. The wedges were actually amazing though. Like, melt in your mouth kind of amazing. The pork was good but just not quite perfect. I had the chocolate slab for dessert and it was kind of a cross between a cake and fudge. Very rich but nice. Again, quite good but just not perfect. Overall I enjoyed my experience here. The staff were great, service was excellent and my food arrived in a timely manner. The ambience was also great and I would probably return. My only itty bitty concern was that the menu didn't entirely go with the feel of the place... The sand, laid back feel with a slightly more fancy menu (ie: the pork belly) didn't quite fit. But again, I liked it here so that's that.

We ordered a pizza over the phone and asked to have it delivered to the Big 4 caravan park. They rang to let us know when they were leaving Port Douglas and we picked it up from the entrance to the caravan park. No delivery charge ... very friendly service and an excellent pizza. We ordered half tandoori chicken and half the Beach Shack special. It was one of the best pizzas we've ever eaten. Great crust, generous toppings, excellently cooked and still hot on delivery. Wouldn't look anywhere else for pizza in Port Douglas ... great food ... excellent value and free delivery ... can't get better than that!

The beach shack is a few minutes outside the town but well worth a visit. The layout, sand floor and the staff make the atmosphere and experience enjoyable. The menu has a variety of dishes to suit most palates from Malaysian curry to Jamaican steak which was particularly nice. I would definitely return

Great atmosphere with very attentive staff. Kids meals were generous and include ice cream. Prawn pizza and Greek Salad were good, we shared the Chocolate Slab but next time we'll try something else.

You need to book for this very relaxed restaurant which is understandably popular - we had four different pizzas all of which were fantastic. Next time we'd skip a starter and make space for pudding as they sound great - there's so much filling on the pizzas that 3 courses was beyond us!Really friendly service.
