Bidra med feedbackGrilled shrimp was excellent melt in your mouth) with a butter sauce and fresh tuna dip for an appetizer was great. They have a large drink menu the blue Hawaiian was delicious! Our server was very pleasant and knew what they had to offer!!
They have raised their prices beyond reality. A shrimp basket is $22. It's good, but yikes. And don't get too excited about the accompanying cole slaw. Mine was just plain shredded cabbage. And the portion size was less than a tablespoon. In our case 2 shrimp baskets, one beer and tip ran $60.
We stopped at Virginia's to have a nice lunch during a quick trip from Bastrop to Port A for the day. The place looks really neat and they seemed very organized as we signed in and waited for a table. We got seated fairly quickly and taken to the 2nd story dining room. The view of the marina was awesome. We ordered our tea from a waitress with her mask down around her chin. The table seemed somewhat sticky but we attributed that to the heat and it being an open air dining arena. It took awhile for the waitress to come back for our order. My husband asked if he could substitute the corn on the cob on his plate for extra potatoes and the waitress harshly told him no. She didnt offer any other options for him but I asked to sub salad instead of the veggies on my plate and she told me that was fine. It took over an hour and half to get our food. She never came back to ask if we were okay and never offered more drinks even though our glasses were empty. When the plates did finally come out my grilled shrimp was extremely dry and my rice was hard and really had no flavor. My husband ordered a plate with shrimp and sausage. Nowhere did it say that it was boiled or prepared with lemon. He is allergic to lemon so he was unable to eat it since it came with lemon all over it. We asked another girl for a box so we could bring it home as the waitress did not come back. When she finally did we asked for more tea and the check. We didnt want to leave a tip but the card machine they brought to the table wasn't user friendly and you couldnt change the tip that it calculated.
I think that Virginia's has sacrificed service for covid, had to ask for a server to take order after hour wait and 15 minutes at table, not servers fault
Looking for a place for lunch, we decided to give Virginia?s a try. Great atmosphere, attentive service, good food. Husband had The Sampler (fish, shrimp, oysters) and I had a Shrimp Po-Boy. Four large shrimp on the po-boy, and the tartar sauce was very good. We topped it off with a shared piece of key lime pie. Yummy, but with an unusual-tasting pretty green drizzle on top. Has a nice view of the Pass with boats ships passing by, of the lighthouse across the way.
