Bidra med feedbackI was drawn to Sevens Boatyard Sunday BBQs by the website and banners at Poole Park advertising 'Every Sunday in August from 12 till 4pm. The UK's best BBQ food'. I drove all the way from Dorchester to meet my daughters and try out the BBQ as promised. However, when we arrived, we were directed to tables outside Lucy's snack outlet where there was an unlit barbecue at 12:45. Unfortunately, there were not enough chairs for the tables and when we inquired about when the BBQ would start, we were given conflicting answers by the staff. Eventually, we were told the BBQ would start at 1pm, but by 1:15 there was still no sign of it being lit. Frustrated, I ordered non barbecued cheeseburgers with chips from the standard menu. The service was slow and the staff seemed overwhelmed by even a small order of burgers. By the time we left at 2:45, the BBQ still had not been lit and the staff admitted that the idea had not been successful. Overall, the experience was disappointing and far from the promised 'best BBQ food in the UK'. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a good barbecue experience.
I recently had my first visit to this cafe and enjoyed a delightful cream tea. The scones were freshly baked on-site and the loose leaf tea was superb. The downstairs area is cozy, but there is a charming room upstairs with a view of the street for those who enjoy people-watching. I plan on coming back soon to try their breakfast offerings.
During my visit to Sandbanks, I stopped by for breakfast and was incredibly impressed by the exceptional and courteous staff. The food was absolutely delicious, the best I've ever had. I will definitely be coming back for more on my next holiday. A nice gesture was when they brought out dog biscuits and water for my furry friend without me having to even ask.
I tried my luck at Lucy's while walking the dog and we were pleasantly surprised by the taste of the coffee served here. It is much better than the big brands located on the high street and it was hot. I have been several times with family members and we have all agreed. A very pleasant surprise.
Attracted by Sevens website and Poole Park banner advertising the Seven Boatyard Sunday BBQs 'every Sunday in August from 12 to 4 pm. The best barbecue in the UK", we traveled from Dorchester 25 miles away to put my daughter's claim to the test. The staff at the Boatshed restaurant directed us to the tables outside Lucy's snack outlet where at 12:45 on a windy Saturday, a barbecue was supposed to start. By the way, there were very few chairs for the number of tables. We waited in the sun and then asked when the barbecue would start. Lucy's staff told us we should ask the restaurant staff. The restaurant staff said Lucy had the answer. The staff at Lucy's said the girl who does it is not here. At 1:15, the girl from Lucy's told us the barbecue would start at 1 pm. When we pointed out the time she admitted she had no idea but gave us the Sunday barbecue menu saying that we could get the restaurant staff to cook the burgers in the restaurant kitchen on the grill. I gave up and ordered 5 uncooked burgers from Lucy's standard menu. "Five!!" said the assistant. Yes. there are 5 of us I replied. Price at £5 each the bill for 5 came to £26.50. The order was passed to the cook who said, "Five!!" and made me feel like she was expecting to see a 25-stone man. I would say my daughter heard the cook next to the next order say, there will be a delay someone has ordered FIVE portions! ». When I left at 2:45 there was no sign of the barbecue being lit. Lucy's staff had told us that the barbecue idea had not been particularly successful. Run away!!! The best BBQ in the UK? Every burger in an English distribution is better than this unmanaged Shambles.
