Bidra med feedbackIt is a shame, as the situation is great, but although the service of the young man was in order, the rest was disappointed. coffee was bad, the cream was definitely not homemade and the crepes are sold for 9 euro per and are small and very...basic a real tear and another disappointing eating place in the mont st michel.
The prices are high, but I appreciate it because the situation. I don't want to eat here, place didn't seem really clean, and that's got really weird taste.
I had limited time to lunch before my transport to paris. the restaurant was full with a busload of tourists for group dinner. I wanted to try mont stels special puffy omlets. the story is that madame poulard (the magd of a...abbey architect who married the village baker) made fast and tasty omeletts. they were popular for the pilgrims who, before the original was built, needed to hit the curse to get out. I asked the person in the white uniform (I think he is the manager) when it was in order to order the omelet and to do with in an hour so I could catch my bus. he was rude to believe. He ordered me to go outside when the dining room was full, then a young waiter came to save and said it could be done if everything I wanted was the omelett. he put me on a table on the terrace. the food was brought out in record time. the omelet was puffy and moist. it came with fries and green leaves for 19 euro that is worth new. the service was much more formal and professional than I expected. I was in 45 minutes and out. The restaurant's terrace offers a breathtaking view of the mont.
If it were possible to review with NO STARS OR A NEGATIVE STAR then I would. Unbelievable and diabolical attitude of waiter. Absolutely ridiculous price charged for a drink. Called in with my wife for 2 beers whilst walking to the Mont Saint Michel. Sat...at table and greeted with a stern faced waiter stating no more food order. We asked if it were possible to get a beer. His body language and facial expressions said NO but he muttered yes. We ordered 2 Beers. He stormed off came back and stated no pumped beers only bottled. We said fine without asking for cost and there were no bar prices anywhere to be seen not even on the menu boards displayed everywhere. He returned and literally slammed 2 glasses on the table along with 2 small bottles of Kronenbourg 1664 and as I poured the first glass he presented a bill for €19.60. Nearly €20 for 2 tiny bottles of lager. I immediately said seriously, are you kidding. He then shrugged his shoulders and walked away. A French couple sat opposite commented on the ridiculous price. They were from Paris and don’t even get charged those prices there. They also had issues with the waiter who was rude to them as they only wanted water and after the first glass he refused to give any further water even though water is available free in all restaurants in France. If I hadn’t have already taken a sip of the beer I would have told him to take it back. I handed over the money and quickly drank the beer and left. I know we were in a major tourist spot but living in the South West of the UK I know how prices vary and increase during busy periods but this was diabolical and feel sure it was because we were British. We’ve spent 8 weeks travelling in France and have been met by lovely warm and friendly people wherever we’ve been. They welcome you and are extremely grateful for any money you should spend in their local communities. This place RESTAURANT LA DIGUE is a diagrace and should NEVER be allowed to TRADE in this way. If you should find yourself anywhere nearby then WALK ON PAST AND AVOID. The sad part about it all is the area and the Mont Saint Michel is beautiful and well worth a visit. Everyone else and the other establishments have been amazing and delighted to see you and appreciate your custom. PLEASE AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AS THEY ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF TOURISTS. I will take my own drinks in future. Lesson learned!
Bad food for a salty bill. 90 euro. The bread in the basket had already been bitten. The salmon rice was old and heated several times. The fried chicken and fries were from the day before. A total disaster.
