Before I book a table there, this is my guide, there are several menus in the evening with local products like asvenisson oyster etc. when we went there, the restaurant is no more table free. the service could appear long, but a. good ccoking they need to wait.
We went in for Saturday midday and were immediately impressed by the environment a beautiful traditional feeling completely with massive kamin (with grill for preparation breaks) and a filled wild boar head rustic but also quite refined. we chose the traditional set...menu for 21 euro. the appetizers set a high standard, the Gesiers salad was considerable with beautiful (and lighlty) cooked gizzards with mushrooms, while the terrine was brought in a large dish from which they helped themselves, served with homemade onion chutney. both were delicious. for the net came the quail bathed in a small cast iron pot in a delicious slightly sweet sauce, while the cannon and game casserole was super rich and contain delicate wild boar also served in a cast iron pot. there was a good choice of whispering and we chose both the cream robe that was good. I have eaten regularly in paris in the last few years and I rarely had better meals there. that was French eating and a regional culinary experience. the site forges is worth a look whether before or after eating. btw, tripadvsior, please correct the spelling: it should be paimpont, not pimpont.

We selected the Traditional set menu for 21 Euros. The starters set a high standard - the gesiers salad was substantial with nicely (and lighlty) cooked gizzards with mushrooms, whilst the terrine was brought in a large dish from which you helped yourself, served with home-made onion chutney. Both were delicious. For mains, the quail came in a little cast iron pot bathed in a delicious slightly sweet sauce, whilst the rabbit and game casserole was superbly rich and included tender wild boar - also served in a cast iron pot. There was a good selection of deserts and we both chose the creme brulee which was fine.I have eaten regularly in Paris over the past couple of years and I've rarely had better meal there. This was French food and a regional dining experience at its best. The local Forges village is well worth a look whether before or after you eat.BTW, TripAdvsior, please correct the spelling: it should be Paimpont, not Pimpont.
A clean, little hole in the wall. Great for an afternoon or early dinner. Consistent food and friendly staff with good prices.
