Bidra med feedbackJason the chef knocked it out of the park with every dish! The pear soup with Gorgonzola and bacon was amazing, and the halibut on risotto with pomegranate reduction sauce was divine. You'll leave with new cooking ideas and keep returning to this restaurant for more delicious inspiration.
The staff at this restaurant will make you feel right at home. All of the pasta and sauces are made in-house and are fantastic. Don't miss the excellent Chicken Parmesan or the delicious crispy brussel sprouts salad. They also have a great selection of reasonably priced wines on their list.
While we were searching for a new home in the area, we stumbled upon this restaurant on Open Table. The staff was very friendly, and the owner personally greeted us shortly after we were seated. She informed us that their specialties were homemade pasta, bread, and desserts. The wine was reasonably priced, and we started with the crispy Brussels sprouts, which were exceptional. My wife ordered the lasagna, and I went for the Bolognese, both of which were delicious. The owner returned to our table and, upon learning of our plans to relocate, even called her husband to ask about the commute from Pleasanton to San Jose for us. She provided us with a wealth of information. Overall, we were very impressed with the food and the attentive service. We would highly recommend this restaurant!
I had eggplant parm served with mushy pasta. While the eggplant was hot, the cheese for the parm was cold and not melted. My wife's salmon salad was non description and tasteless.
Since Forno Vecchio opened, I have always enjoyed every dining experience with family and friends. Given any opportunity, I highly recommended Forno Vecchio. Saturday Evening Was Surprisingly Disappointing. I can 't recommend Forno Vecchio this time. While we were warmly greeted, the service was mostly MIA (Missing In Action) throughout the evening. We spent more time waiting for our drinks and food than actually consuming our drinks and food. Appeared the larger tables were receiving the greatest attention. My dining partner and I intended to share the Calamari as one of our appetizers. We were both shocked when it was delivered. We laughed because we thought it was a joke. This Calamari now holds the World Record for the smallest plate of Calamari ever served, not even enough for a hungry child. The unexpected hot spice also overwhelmed the 9 lonely Calamari. My dining partner ordered the Skirt Steak which she liked. My Salmon was over-cooked and extremely dry. Pleasant memories of past dining experiences here kept me from returning it. When asked about this dining experience, I did comment to the Owner. To culminate the evening, the server dropped my used fork on me, staining my suit. The Wonderful Ambiance of Forno Vecchio was overshadowed by poor service and less than satisfying food.
