Bidra med feedbackWe have been fans of this local favorite since it 's first day, mostly because it 's such a unique place for our village. That said, over the years, we have come to see just how unique Poor Thom 's Tavern is: nestled in a village that has only one traffic light, across the street from the post and beam barn library, Poor Thom 's Tavern is a nostalgic throwback with excellent food and service. You almost always see a familiar face, but more importantly, you see friendly faces. It 's also wonderful that you can eat both indoors and outdoors and it 's great to spend some time after dinner walking around outdoors in the mellow countryside. All the amazing food you 'd find in the cities of the UV in the bucolic, calm location of Meriden.
Great food in a fun atmosphere. Service is excellent. Consistently good. The outdoor space is fun in the nice weather as well.

Just what the area needed. Beer and Food selection is good and prepared with care. There’s a full bar with some signature drinks that can be surprisingly good as well. Cozy bar, friendly conversation, and a clean restaurant all around. Kid friendly, has outdoor seating, and can accommodate large parties if you call ahead (way ahead is best). Waitstaff is better here than most places in the Upper Valley. Thom is a gracious host. We have always enjoyed our time here and recommend it for a date night or family outing. Kid-friendliness: No trouble bringing the kids here.
Delightful space and a very generous Cobb Salad. Their deconstructed key lime pie was a treat. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
